SONIHULL ULTRASONIC ANTIFOULING SYSTEM

The ultrasonic antifouling system by NRG Marine uses the latest digital electronics and ultrasonic transducer technology.

This system works by producing multiple bursts of ultrasonic energy simultaneously in multiple frequencies, the energy creates a pattern of alternating positive and negative pressure.

Microscopic bubbles are created from the negative pressure, while the positive pressure implodes them due to formations of vapour cavities known as cavitation.

The result of the implosion is a micro jet action that creates a cleaning effect on the hulls surface below the waterline.

It also resonates and destroys single cell organisms such as algae. Removing the initial link in the food chain prevents barnacles and other marine life to feed on the algae.

The Sonihull Ultrasonic Antifouling System is for yachts up to 55 feet in length, that uses a dual transducer setup. Suitable for sailboats, power boats, catamarans and large commercial vessels.

Catamarans

When using on a catamaran that’s up to 40 feet in length we recommend installing one transducer in each hull in the rear 1/3 of the pontoon.

If the catamaran is over 40 feet and up to 65 feet we recommend using two Sonihull Duo systems, with one system in each pontoon. This system should be installed similar to the monohulls with spacing 1/3 and 2/3 along the center line of the pontoon.
